The Year 7s and 8s looked at World War II in art and as a result made matchboxes that would represent what they found.
One made a match box topped by Takeley memorial containing lists of the people’s names on the memorial. Another made a box that contained the names of family members who died in the wars written on poppies.
Some focused on the war designing their matchboxes around a gun, a tank and landing craft. This one imaginatively has the sand of the beach inside it.
The largest had a presentation of the back story which spoke of a young girl who missed her father. It was very moving.
