Part Time English and Maths Teacher and Curriculum Leader in the Junior School (Year 5 and Year 6)

Salary 16K to 21K fulltime equivalent depending on experience, paid pro rata.
Hours negotiable: to include Monday to Thursday 8:45am to 11:10am.

Person specification

You are a caring, prayerful person able to understand individual pupil needs and how to manage a mixed age group of up to 10 children.

A good team worker, you work effectively with other staff and are confident in managing teaching assistants.

You are experienced at teaching this age group and can provide us with evidence of good working practice.

You understand and uphold the Christian ethos and values of the school and this will be evident in your teaching of the children, showing a commitment to social, moral, spiritual and cultural education, Bible story teaching, and British values.

You have a passion for Maths and English and a good understanding of the teaching of phonics, being able to engage the children through both your and their creativity.

You are a person with obvious compassion, a commitment to community life and experience beyond the classroom, possibly demonstrated in your Church or charitable work.

You would enjoy teaching other year groups in our all through school.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced teacher to take a leadership role in the Junior department (Year 2 to Year 6). This will include working with other Junior department staff and specialist teachers to develop this area of the curriculum.  Qualified teacher status and experience of the Independent School Standards would be an advantage.

We operate a small school model where each Junior School year group rarely has more than 5 children.
