Year 7 and the juniors travelled to the Royal Albert Hall to see the Classical Spectacular on Friday 15th March. We travelled by train and visited the Science Museum in the morning where we experienced a range of hands-on activities. After lunch we walked up to the Royal Albert Hall where 5000 children were waiting to enjoy the show!
The programme included many popular classics including music which we are using in our school production. We were treated to dancers during The Can Can and The Blue Danube, canons and fireworks in Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture and a solo tenor for Nessum Dorma. A fantastic laser light show accompanied many of the pieces. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was joined by the Royal Artillery Band in full uniform, for most of the pieces.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the trip; it was credited by Milly as “the best trip ever”.
