As part of the Woodland Trust’s Jubilee Wood Project MDPGA Wethersfield is creating one of 60 special Diamond Woods.

60 years is how long the Queen has been on the throne.The Woodland Trust will be planting 60 million trees over the country,
and we the juniors have been apart of this special event!

We learnt more about trees, the types of wood and how to find out the age of a tree, without cutting it down. We had fun in the woods making a nest like a bird and how clever they are.

It was a bright very cold day with ice in muddy puddles. We learnt how to plant the trees and the trees we planted were oak.

When we finished we enjoyed hot soup and rolls before returning to back to school.
