On Thursday 28th November our year 8 RS class enjoyed a visit to Chelmsford Mosque. The students were welcomed by a member of the Mosque and, following a presentation about Islam, were given a tour of the prayer rooms, the education facility and the washroom. Pupils were also given the chance to dress in traditional clothing worn by Muslims in various locations around the world and could guess where they were from. Our guide gave us the chance to ask questions and to see and handle some items relating to Islam, such as part of the Koran and prayer beads. It was a very informative trip and one which the pupils described as ‘interesting’ and ‘helpful’. We are very grateful to Sidra Naeem for her time in showing us around.
