While most of the seniors were away on their trips to London pupils still at the school had the privilege of going over to Takeley War Memorial to Remember the lives lost in the Two World Wars. The Juniors were able to pin their poems to the memorial wall on the Jubilee Hall to share with the village.
We invited two of the veterans over to see a display we were preparing for our Friday assembly.
On the Friday we had a very special assembly where the Juniors brought poppies to the front. We learned about what the different coloured poppies symbolised. Purple was to remember the animals who lost their lives in service of our country.
Two of our senior pupils shared what Remembrance meant to them.
One of our pupils shared about her Grandfather who had fought and lost his life in Zimbabwe during the war of independence.
