Provision for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

The school aims to be an inclusive establishment within the bounds of a balanced class environment and the facilities on the site. If a child has an educational need the school will seek to follow best practice.

Please note that the financial responsibility for additional teaching or assessments will rest with the family.

We do not have a SENCO but special needs are addressed through the work of a SEND Team.

The  SEND policy details the across-school procedures followed by the school to gather data about the progress of students. It gives a rational for recording and meeting special educational needs including gifted and talented pupils. It outlines reporting procedures.
Course assessments are kept in each teacher’s individual course folders. Details of these assessments are specified in subject documentation and may broadly follow National Curriculum guidelines.
