My page is about the names of the people that lived and worked in the Smithy and at the Vicarage.
I got my information from the Kelly's Directory that tells you about people in the village.
I found out about the names and ages of the Black Smiths and the Vicars from the censuses.

The Black-Smith’s Shop.

In 1841, John Perry, age 65, was Black- Smith. Mary Perry was his wife and Isaac Perry age 95 was his father.

In 1882 the Smithy shop was owned by Frank Barltrop.

In 1891 William Barltrop age 39 was Black- Smith, Sarah Barltrop age 37 was his wife. Frank Baltrop was his son and was age 13. George Barltrop age 9 was also his son.

He also had three other sons named Ernest Barltrop(7), Harry Baltrop(4) and Fredrick Barltrop(3).

The Smith Shop that these people lived in is now called The Attradges.

In 1891 there was another black smith, Henry Lawrence. Henry Lawrence lived with his father.

This is ATTRIDGES. It is what the Smith shop looks like now.

The Vicarage

In 1861, it was lived in by George Tuffenal, from Walton, age 39.

He was a widower. He had two daughters and a son. His daughters were Alice(4) and Grace(1). His son was named Richard(3). His cook was called Aliza. The Nurse Maid was Sarah Partridge age 20 and Elizabeth Noon age 30 was his nurse.

This is the vicarage as it is now. It is now AKLOWA the Gahnaian cultural centre.
